Common questions
Do I need to install anything to take this course?
No. Your HTML and CSS render in a sandboxed preview inside the page, at the viewport width, text size and colour scheme you pick. There is no editor or build tool to set up.
How are the exercises graded?
Each of the 220 exercises is checked by reading the styles your browser actually computed — 962 checks in all — never the text of your stylesheet, so any correct solution passes.
Is the CSS course finished?
Levels 1 to 11 of 12 are written: from your first rule through grid, responsive and international CSS, animation, architecture and performance. Level 12 (the CSSOM, JavaScript integration and the capstone) is planned and marked as such.
Is the CSS course free?
Yes. All 110 lessons, the graded exercises and the quizzes are free and need no account.
